Her experiences have also made her more humble, less judgmental, and more compassionate. Dr. Amin's approach to motherhood and her role as an influencer is grounded in these core values, which she generously shares with her audience.
1. Personal Journey
Question: Can you share a moment or experience that significantly changed your perspective on motherhood?
Answer: "My struggles with birth trauma, postpartum complications, and secondary infertility have forever changed how I view motherhood and my career as a pediatrician. I learned to let go of the things that weren't serving me and strive for more peace in parenting."
2. Balancing Demands
Question: How do you balance the demands of parenthood with your role as an influencer?
Answer: "Time blocking, utilizing help, and understanding my limitations. For time blocking, I designate one day for certain tasks (Mondays are meetings, Tuesdays are for writing, and Wednesdays are for filming/recording) which help focus my certain creative energy on certain days. I utilize help and resources to continue my tasks, and I learn to say no if I've overscheduled myself."
3. Advice for New Mothers
Question: What's one piece of advice you wish you had received before becoming a mother?
Answer: "Block out the noise to be able to truly tap into your intuition. Motherhood can be overwhelming but I believe even more so if we ask too many people for their advice or search for too many opinions. By doing so, we lose ourselves and what WE want."
4. Influencing Content Creation
Question: In what ways has your journey as a mom influenced the content you create and share?
Answer: "I've become more humble, less judgmental, and more compassionate than I was before."
5. Parenting Hacks
Question: Can you share a favorite parenting hack or tool that has made your life easier?
Answer: "PAUSING. Pausing when your kid cries, pausing before responding, pausing after they say something. PAUSE PAUSE PAUSE. This helps minimize the cycle of dysregulation and also helps from a developmental perspective as well."
